Hello,

I’m having a serious issue with the integrated camera on my Lenovo IdeaPad C340-14IML (MT 81TK) running Windows 11.

Initial problem

  • Microsoft Teams showed “No camera is connected”.

Windows Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera is ON.

Camera permissions are enabled for all apps.

BIOS does not have any camera option (already checked).

The camera is integrated, not USB.

Device Manager behavior

In Device Manager, the camera only appeared when enabling View → Show hidden devices, and it was greyed out.

Right-click options were only:

Scan for hardware changes

  *Properties*

  No **Enable device** option.

Scanning for hardware changes detected the camera but **did nothing**.

What I tried (critical part)

Following common guidance, I:

Right-clicked the greyed-out integrated camera.

Went to Driver → Uninstall device.

Checked “Delete the driver software for this device”.

Rebooted.

Used Action → Scan for hardware changes.

Current state (worse than before)

The camera has now completely disappeared from Device Manager.

It does not appear even with “Show hidden devices” enabled.

Reinstalling Lenovo camera drivers (for Windows 10, since Lenovo has no Windows 11 driver) does nothing.

Windows Camera app cannot detect any camera.

Teams still shows no camera.

Additional info

BIOS shows no camera toggle.

This model seems to have known issues with camera detection on Windows 11.

The hardware was working in the past.

I am trying to determine if:

This is a Windows 11 compatibility issue

  A driver stack issue

Or if Windows is no longer enumerating the camera hardware at all

My questions

How can I force Windows to re-enumerate the integrated camera hardware?

Is there a way to manually reinstall or bind the camera driver if the device no longer appears?

Is this a known Windows 11 issue with older Lenovo integrated cameras?

At this point, is the only solution:

Reinstalling Windows 10?

Or using an external USB camera?

Any technical guidance would be greatly appreciated, as standard troubleshooting has made the situation worse rather than better.

Hi David, thanks for your support.

However, these solutions are quite basic and I’ve already tried all of them without success.

The camera shortcut on my keyboard is F8, and it does not enable the camera.

I am getting error 0xA00F4244, but the suggested fixes do not apply in my case.

This is the integrated camera of the laptop, not an external webcam.

The camera was working perfectly before.

Now it is no longer detected at all and has disappeared from Device Manager, even with Show hidden devices enabled.

At this point, Windows does not seem to be enumerating the camera hardware anymore, so generic permission checks or app-level fixes are not helpful.

    I’ve attached screenshots.

I would appreciate guidance at a driver / device-enumeration / Windows 11 compatibility level, rather than standard troubleshooting steps that I’ve already ruled out.

    Thank you.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Check between the F1 - F12 keys on the keyboard if there is a key with a camera icon.

If you find a key with a camera icon, press the Fn key + <key with camera icon> and see if this unlocks the camera.

Also, check the camera lens to see if it has a privacy slider. If it has, open it and see if the camera will work.

If that doesn't help, please share a screenshot of your system information.

(You've already shared your device model, which is helpful. However, the system information provides a broader view of your computer's configuration, including details like the BIOS version, which can be crucial for diagnosing the issue.)

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    I await your reply.
