hi,

I installed a TP-Link AX1800 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth adapter in the PCIe slot of my computer. However, I can't find it under this name in the device manager; instead, there's a Realtek adapter listed. Is this the same device? Before installation, I removed the old Bluetooth dongle that was in the USB slot and also removed it from the Windows 11 device manager.

Why does the device manager show a Realtek adapter? I installed the latest drivers for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from the TP-Link website. Are those the Realtek drivers? The date doesn't match, though.

Motherboard is rog strix x570-f gaming.

Yes, that's exactly right. Your TP-Link adapter uses a Realtek chipset, so it's perfectly normal for it to appear as a Realtek device in Device Manager. Even though the drivers you installed came from the TP-Link website, they are designed for your particular adapter, and the underlying Realtek drivers are part of how the adapter is recognized by Windows. Since you aren't seeing any error messages, the device is installed correctly and everything should work as expected.

Thank you for your time. This answer helped me now. The world of computers is indeed wonderful. So, the drivers are from TP-Link, right? There are no error messages in the device manager.

    Hi there!

It is normal for the TP-Link card to appear in Device Manager as a Realtek Bluetooth adapter because the underlying chipset is from Realtek.

As long as the device is functioning properly, the name mismatch is not an issue, and you can safely use the drivers from the TP-Link website even if the dates shown in Device Manager do not match exactly.

If you see no errors or warning symbols in Device Manager, then both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are installed correctly and should work without problems.
