Hello, I am Leonielhou, an Independent Advisor and a user like you, I am happy to help clarify any questions you may have.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing that. The "Read Aloud" feature in Word uses a text-to-speech (TTS) engine to generate speech from the text in a document. The TTS engine uses the proofing language of the document to determine how to pronounce words and generate speech. However, if the TTS engine does not have a voice for the proofing language, it may fall back to a default voice, such as the one for English.
Kindly try install a TTS engine that includes a voice for your language, and then configure Word to use it. Microsoft provides a range of TTS voices that can be downloaded and installed on your computer, including voices for many different languages. Once you've installed a TTS voice for your language, you can set it as the default voice for the "Read Aloud" feature in Word by following these steps:
- Open Word and go to the "File" menu.
- Click on "Options."
- Select "Proofing" from the left-hand sidebar.
- In the "Spelling and grammar" section, click on "Settings."
- In the "Writing Assistant" section, make sure that "Read Aloud" is enabled.
- Click on the "Change voice" button.
- Select the TTS voice for your language from the list of voices, and then click "OK."
- Click "OK" again to close the Word Options dialog box.
If that still fails, you may want to install a Third-Party TTS engine, and configure word to use it. Some of the popular TTS engines out there are Google TTS , Amazon Polly , etc. You could refer the documentation of these TTS engines, to configure in your system and Word.
Please let me know right away if this worked or not for you.
