Important

Some information relates to prerelease product that may be substantially modified before it’s released. Microsoft makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the information provided here.

Adds a named code entity or type mapping to the CodeIdentifiers instance's scope.

This API supports the product infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

C#
public void Add(string identifier, object? value);
C#
public void Add(string identifier, object value);

Parameters

identifier
String

A name that is used to index the code entity.

value
Object

The code entity or type mapping information.

Remarks

Unlike the AddUnique method, the Add method does not prevent naming collisions.

If you want to control the names of code entities that are bound to XML Schema or Web service definitions, use the associated attributes rather than creating an instance of the CodeIdentifiers class. For a complete list, see Attributes That Control XML Serialization.
