Bonjour, j'ai un PC HP Elitebook 840 G3 et j'essaie de me connecter avec un convertisseur hdmi sur mon port USB-C et cela ne fonctionne pas et pourtant j'ai acheté un convertisseur. Est-ce normal ?

Bonjour,

Après avoir regardé sur Internet et par rapport au modèle, il semblerait que l'USB-C ne permette pas de diffuser de la vidéo.

Il serait peut être interessant de voir si en utilisant une dock station sur l'USB-C, cela permettrait d'avoir davantage de ports vidéo et USB. Je vous invite à aller voir sur le site de Dell.

Your HP EliteBook 840 G3 does have a USB-C port, but it does not support video output (DisplayPort over USB-C). This means you cannot use a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter to get video out of that port.

So to Output Video for the EliteBook 840 G3 you will need to connect to an external monitor and you should use one of these:

• DisplayPort: The laptop includes a native DisplayPort (via a docking station or adapter).
• VGA Port: Some models have a VGA port, but this is older tech.
• Docking Station: HP UltraSlim Docking Station provides DisplayPort and VGA options.
• USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter: You can use a USB-A (the standard USB port) to HDMI adapter, but make sure it includes an internal DisplayLink chip for video output.

Beside that I also recommend you a solution if you need a HDMI output and don’t have a docking station:

• You can buy a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter that supports DisplayLink.
  • Example: Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter with DisplayLink.
