Try this steps to help fix the error.
Step 1: Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
Using Windows 11
Click Start and choose Settings. Go to System then select Troubleshoot. Click Other troubleshooters. Next, under Most frequent, select Windows Update and Run.
Using Windows 10
Click Start then go to Settings. Click Update & Security then select Troubleshoot. Go to Additional troubleshooters. Next, under Get up and running, select Windows Update then Run the troubleshooter.

Step 2: Reset Windows Update components
Click Start button and search Windows Powershell and press Enter to open.
Once Windows Powershell window is opened enter this command below and wait to complete.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
netsh winsock reset
After running the commands restart your PC and try to update again.
