(Disclaimer: this forum is in French (fr-fr), however, I will still answer your question in English. Next time when posting a question on the forum, make sure you choose the right region (en-us)).

    Hi, Inguun Enkhtaivan

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Sorry for this unwanted experience regarding your postal code cannot be recognized. Here are some workarounds you can try to fix this issue:

Quick fixes to try (in order)

    Confirm your account’s country/region

    • Go to account.microsoft.com → Your info → Edit profile info and make sure Country/Region = Australia.
    • If it’s not AU and the subscription belongs to a different region, create a new billing profile in AU and move the payment method there.

Enter postcode as 4 digits only

    • Type #### (e.g., 4000) with no space or text.
    • Ensure the City/Suburb you enter matches the postcode (the validator can fail when suburb doesn’t align).

Match the card issuer’s AVS data exactly

    • Use the same billing address (street, suburb, postcode) that your bank has on file for that card. Even small differences (e.g., Rd vs Road, missing apartment number) can cause the form to flag postcode as invalid.

    Browser clean path

    • Open Edge or Chrome → New InPrivate/Incognito window.
    • Disable autofill for this form, type all fields manually.
    • If you use a password manager, temporarily turn off address autofill while entering the data (cached formats sometimes inject spaces into the postcode).
    • Try another device (mobile/desktop) if possible.

Remove the old payment method, then add fresh

    • Go to account.microsoft.com/billing/payments → remove outdated card → Add a new payment method with the corrected AU address.
    • If the payment method belongs to another country (e.g., a non‑AU card), Microsoft may still reject AU postcodes on that card’s profile.

If your subscription was originally created outside Australia

    • Use the account portal and ensure the Sold‑to/Bill‑to addresses are AU.
    • Remember: country/region of a subscription can’t be changed; you may need an AU profile/subscription.

Common causes (and how to spot them)

    • Country mismatch: Account region or subscription profile ≠ Australia → 4‑digit postcode rejected. Check: Profile page shows a different country.
    • Suburb/postcode mismatch: City field doesn’t match the AU postcode mapping. Fix: Use the suburb that corresponds to your postcode (e.g., 4000 → Brisbane).
    • Card AVS mismatch: Your bank’s billing address is different from what you typed. Fix: Copy the bank’s address exactly (including apartment/unit).
    • Autofill artifacts: Hidden spaces or non‑ASCII characters in the postcode. Fix: Re‑type in Incognito; avoid paste/autofill.

Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
