    Hi Dvir, This is Ramesh.

The KB5034441 update failing with the error code 0x80070643 is a known issue. You can fix the issue by resizing the Recovery partition to 750 MB or more.

Here's the Microsoft page that describes the problem:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/relea...

However, if you don't use Bitlocker, you can simply hide the update using the Microsoft diagcab tool here:

    https://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f...

If you want to install the update anyway, please post back so that I can provide instructions for resizing the recovery partition.

Hi Ramesh Thank you for answering my question I want to install the update I would appreciate it if you could help me.

And regarding the diagcab tool that hides the update, I don't need this Windows update?

    Hi Dvir,

The update KB5034441 addresses a WinRE Bitlocker vulnerability. Therefore, it can be hidden if you don't use BitLocker.

If you want to install the update anyway, read on:

You may use Microsoft's PowerShell script to automatically extend the Recovery partition.

See: How to Extend the Windows RE Partition Using PowerShell (VBScript credits: Microsoft Learn)

    https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/extend-windo...

Note: Although the Microsoft script works perfectly and performs proper validations before resizing the recovery partition, it's generally a good idea to back up your data before modifying the disk layout.

    (or)

To extend the partition _manually_, please reply back with the following information:

    1. Post a screenshot of the Disk Management window (maximized).
    2. From an admin Command Prompt, run these commands: reagentc /info reagentc /disable dir c:\windows\system32\recovery\ /a diskpart list disk sel disk 0 list part list vol

Post the output or screenshots here.

    Dvir,

I don't know if the steps were executed correctly. Also, the disk and the partition numbers vary from system to system.

I need to see the outputs of the above commands to fix this. If not, you can simply hide the update, as I mentioned earlier.
