Uso di versioni precedenti di Outlook per Mac in ambienti aziendali
Dear Cantuzz
Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community
If you can't access Hotmail from the Mail app on your Mac but can sign in using Safari, it may be due to several reasons. Please try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Make sure you are using the correct mailbox settings:
First make sure that you are using the correct mailbox settings in your mail application. The IMAP and SMTP settings for Hotmail (now known as Outlook.com) are as follows:
- IMAP Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
- IMAP port: 993
- SMTP server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
- SMTP port: 587
- Check account settings:
In the Mail application, go to Mail > Accounts > Add or select your Hotmail account and make sure you enter the new password correctly.
- Security and authorization issues:
Sometimes mailbox providers (e.g. Microsoft) may block access to certain applications for security reasons. You can try enabling the “Low security application access” setting (if applicable) or check if there are any security alerts that need to be disarmed.
- Update the Mail application:
Make sure your Mac and the Mail app are up to date. You can check for updates via the App Store.
- Restart the Mail app and Mac:
Try closing the Mail app and restarting your Mac, then try logging in again.
- Check network connection:
Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet and that no other network settings are preventing the connection to the mailbox server.
If the above steps do not solve the problem, you can try to re-add the account by following the steps below.
- In the Mail app, go to Mail > Accounts.
- Select your Hotmail account and delete it.
- Restart the Mail app and add the Hotmail account back in, making sure to enter a new password.
If the problem persists, please let us know the specific error message, and screenshots would be great!
I wish you all the best
