Hi Enrico Proserpio
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I realize that you've encountered a problem with " OneNote 2013 ", and I understand how you feel. Don't worry, I'll do my best to help you.
Before encountering this issue, did you perform any operations, such as updating the system? We may need to identify the cause of OneNote crashing first. Are there any error messages when it crashes? If so, please provide an image, as it will help me better locate the problem and provide assistance. Additionally, you can try some of the following general methods, but they might not be effective. We'll need more information to provide more accurate solutions:
1. Repair Office Program
Office 2013 offers a built-in repair tool to fix corrupted program files. Here are the steps:
- Open the "Control Panel" and select "Programs" > "Programs and Features."
- Find "Microsoft Office 2013," right-click it, and select "Change."
- In the pop-up window, select "Repair," then choose "Quick Repair" or "Online Repair."
- Follow the prompts to complete the repair and restart your computer.
2. Disable Add-ins
Sometimes, OneNote add-ins or external applications may cause startup crashes. You can try disabling add-ins:
- Hold down the Ctrl key while opening OneNote to disable all add-ins.
- If it starts successfully, go to OneNote's "File" > "Options" > "Add-ins."
- In the "Manage" dropdown menu, select "COM Add-ins" and click "Go."
- Disable unnecessary add-ins and restart OneNote.
3. Reset OneNote Settings
Sometimes, OneNote configuration files may become corrupted. Try resetting OneNote settings:
- Open OneNote, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, and end all OneNote processes.
- Then press Win+R, type
onenote /safemode, and start OneNote in safe mode, which will disable all add-ins and custom settings.
- If it starts in safe mode, try resetting OneNote or clearing settings.
Feel free to share updates with me on how things are progressing after you've completed the aforementioned steps. Should you have any questions or require clarification, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I‘d like to do my utmost to assist you.
Looking forward to your reply!
Best regards
