Hi Alberto,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community. I understand that you may have questions about the recent price and feature adjustments notification you received, and We aim to help you understand these changes and assist you in selecting the subscription version that best suits your current needs.
Regarding the price increase from plan from €65 to €99 at annual renewal mentioned in the prompt, this is because: Microsoft increased prices globally in early 2025 to reflect the inclusion of Copilot (AI features) and Microsoft Designer in Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans. For example:
Microsoft 365 Personal: from €65 to €99/year
Microsoft 365 Family: from €89 to €129/year
These changes were automatically applied to existing subscriptions unless users took action. "Starting January 16, 2025, Microsoft 365 Family plans worldwide will include Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Designer. As an existing Microsoft 365 and Family subscriber, you will automatically gain access to Copilot in the Microsoft 365 applications when you update to the latest version.
However, if existing subscribers do not have a significant need for Copilot and Designer, Microsoft offers the option to switch to a lower-priced subscription.
You can choose to switch to a plan that does not include Copilot or AI points, such as Microsoft 365 Basic, or switch to the new Microsoft Personal Classic or Family Classic plans for a limited time. The Microsoft 365 Classic plans (Personal Classic and Family Classic) were introduced as lower-cost alternatives without Copilot or AI credits. However, they are not shown by default in the subscription dashboard. The option to switch only appears after you click “Pause automatic renewal” a step that makes it seem like you're canceling, and this has led to confusion.
Switching to the Classic Plan:
Go to your Microsoft 365 subscription page.
Click “Pause automatic renewal”.
You should then see the option to switch to Classic.
