Icona Microsoft Edge nella barra delle applicazioni

Buongiorno,

Sul mio desktop computer (Windows 11) l'icona di Microsoft Edge (browser) presente nella barra delle applicazioni, non è l'icona di Microsoft Edge (ricciolo blu-verde) ma rappresenta un foglio bianco con l'orecchia piegata (icona solitamente usata per Nuovo Documento).

Unfortunately, I don't think I can help you much.

I noticed the problem a couple of months ago, I think, and I thought Windows Updates would fix it.

My current system version is as follows:

Edizione Windows 11 Pro (Italian Language)

Versione 24H2

Data installazione: ‎12/‎11/‎2024

Build sistema operativo 26100.4770

I can say that I always keep Windows up to date.

The system is set up for multi-user access (me, my wife, and my daughter).

I add that, when accessing with my wife's account (of course, on the same machine), the classic MS Edge icon is visible in the taskbar.

The main installed applications are: Office 2021 (Home Edition), two browsers (MS Edge, my most used browser, and Firefox), Visual Studio 2022 (Community Edition), VS Code, and other minor programs.

I must say that for programming (as a hobbyist) I rarely use the machine due to the Edge icon issue.

I can add that I've compiled (with VS2022) a number of open-source Win32 example programs that come with David Nash's Win32++ library (https://github.com/DavidNash2024/Win32xx). Two of these programs use the WebView2 (MS Edge) SDK.

Hi!

Can you give me a bit more information, like when did the issue started? are there any know triggers like recent updates or installed an application that might trigger the icon to change. So far what troubleshooting did you do already?
