Servizio di hosting e sincronizzazione di file Microsoft.
Dear Lucien Villalobos,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum support.
Please be assured that upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 generally does not lead to the loss of files stored in OneDrive especially if those files are already synced to the cloud.
When your files are properly synced with OneDrive:
- They are securely backed up online, not just stored locally.
- You can access them from any device after the upgrade.
- Even if something goes wrong during the upgrade, your cloud-stored data remains safe.
How to safeguard your files
Since you don’t have an external backup, here are a few steps you can take to ensure your OneDrive files are protected:
- Verify OneDrive Sync Status
- Open OneDrive > Settings > Account tab
- Ensure all folders are marked as “up to date”
- Open OneDrive > Settings > Account tab
- Use Known Folder Move
- Make sure your Desktop and Documents folders are backed up to OneDrive
- If they’re not, move important files manually into the OneDrive folder
- Check OneDrive Online
- Go to https://onedrive.live.com
- Confirm your files are visible and accessible from the cloud
- Avoid Forced Reinstalls
- Use the in-place upgrade method via Windows Update or Upgrade Assistant
- This preserves your files, apps, and settings
Best wishes,
