Help required: Unable to access Hotmail account (possible unauthorized access)

Hello,

My friend’s e-mail account cannot be accessed with the password anymore. The system says that the password is obsolete and was changed three months ago, which is not true.

When we try to recover the account through e-mail or phone, the system shows an alternative recovery e-mail address with the domain “fviainboxes”, which has never been set, and also a phone number that was never linked to the account.

Since we strongly suspect a hacking attempt, could you please help us recover the account and restore full access?

As we don’t have access to account details I would recommend following the instructions here:

If none of the above work then you’ll require the account recovery form:

https://account.live.com/acsr

Please note if you have 2/multi factor authentication active on your account then you cannot use the form to recover the account.

If you’re successful in changing the details then you may find that the account is limited for 30 days, this is a security feature & cannot be circumvented.
