Brief Description
Windows Server® 2008 does not, by default, install applications and accessories that are considered to be part of a user's desktop experience. These applications can be selectively installed using Server Manager.
Manifestation
Applications and installers that rely on Windows desktop applications and accessories might fail to run or install. Desktop accessories and tools have been removed into a separate feature installation since most users of Windows Server do not need desktop applications.
Remedies
Applications dependent on desktop accessories and tools will need to ensure that they are installed prior to application installation.
