May I know which Microsoft Office version you are currently using? May I also know what changes you have made that might be causing the issue? Did you also use any add-in or any VBA code? Does the issue also occur even when you create a new document? According to one of the community users, "Jim_ Gordon," it might be related to the Adobe Acrobat issue. "To fix the issue, you will need to install updates. But if you don't use Adobe Acrobat you can delete the follow files:
Delete "linkCreation.dotm" from the following folders:
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. Office/User Content/Startup/Word/
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. Office/User Content/Startup/PowerPoint/
~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9. Office/User Content/Startup/Excel/
Make sure that it allows to view hidden files. In Finder press Shift+Command+L then navigate to the folders above."
