새로운 Teams Free 기능에 대한 초기 액세스 및 피드백 프로그램에 참여
Hello RainJung. I think the problem you're experiencing error code 657rx when Microsoft Teams comes up after a password change on Windows is due to locally cached authentication tokens. These tokens become desynchronized when your password changes, and the desktop app can't effectively revalidate them, even though the web app functions normally.
To correct this, you'll want to clear out those cached credentials and Teams-related files. Begin by opening Credential Manager (search it up in the Start menu), and then go to Windows Credentials and delete anything associated with Teams, Office, or your Microsoft account. This triggers a refresh the next time Teams is opened.
Then, clear Teams' local cache. Press Win + R, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and remove everything within. And then do the same for %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams. These caches hold sign-in tokens and UI data, and by clearing them, it allows the app to recreate its connection from scratch.
Then, navigate to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school, and if your work account appears there, remove it. Then re-join using your new password. This process re-authenticates your device properly for all Microsoft 365 services.
Now again restart Teams and log in. The desktop application should now take your credentials without error 657rx. If issues continue, you could try running Microsoft's activation reset tool or set up a new Windows profile but most often, this cache cleanup works.
