Hi 지한 임 ,
Good Day. I'm Jhun an independent advisor. In regards with your account issue, let's try to do these some steps and hope one of these will fix the issue.
A. Even there's no members and organizer, your account might still be classified as a child account inside a "ghost" family group. To fix this you must confirm that your account is not in a family group.
- Go to https://family.microsoft.com.
- If it shows you alone and no organizer, you are not in an active family.
- If you still see an Organizer, remove yourself: Family page → Leave family group.
B. If Step A works but your account still have restrictions, remove your account from Family Safety backend. Go here (not the usual page—this one removes leftover restrictions): https://account.microsoft.com/family/settings
If it asks you to “request permission,” or shows “Content Filters,” you still have stuck settings.
- Click Your info on the top bar.
- Make sure your birthdate is correct and shows you as 16 (international age)
- Change your region to Korea if needed.
- If your birthday is wrong and makes you < 13 internationally, Family Safety never turns off until the organizer approves — even if the organizer is gone. If the birthdate is correct but the filters remain → Go to Step C.
C. Check the Hidden Device Filter. Sometimes restrictions stay because of a connected Windows device registered in a family safety.
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices.
- If you see:
"Family Safety device"
or any connected PC showing “Child device monitoring” - Click the device > Remove Device.
- Restart and test.
D. Turn off Family Safety in Windows
- On your PC go to Settings > Accounts > Email & Accounts.
- Remove and re-add your Microsoft account, then
- Settings > Accounts > Family.
- If "your Family shows nothing, this is good.
- If it shows something else, Remove it.
- Also check, press Win+R
- copy paste: ms-settings:family-group
- If it loads blank, means you're not in a family.
E. Flush Cached Local Family safety Policies.
- Open PowerShell as Admin.
- Run these commands:
reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device\FamilySafety" /f
Hit Enter
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Parental Controls" /f
Hit enter
gpupdate /force > hit enter.
- Restart PC and test.
F. Remove your account from Family Safety via Microsoft Support. This is the best fix specially if the organizer's account is lost, Your device still insists “Your family restricts this website” and Family Safety keeps blocking websites even though you're alone.
- Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus.
- Go to Account and Billing > Microsoft Account > Family Safety.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Jhun
