Hello
You can no longer use a license upgraded from Windows 7 or 8 to activate Windows 11. This is a loophole Microsoft closed not too long ago. The upgrade is meant for Windows 10, not for Windows 11.
I have recently upgraded my PC with new CPU, mainboard, RAM, etc.
The only things I kept from my old PC was my Storage drives. Especially the one containing Windows.
So, obviously, my PC had all my data, booted on my Windows 11 home(which I upgraded to from Windows 10, which I upgraded from Windows 7, which I paid for and have a license key and receipt for) and wants me to register my license again.
I have read, in one of your help articles, that the system might not recognize my online license if the windows was booted from the motherboard, but it is not the case here.
I have booted from the same storage drive which had my windows.
Let me know what can be done, (I have tried everything on this site except buying a new license) and thanks for your time and help.
