"System Message 20227" error in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015

This article provides a solution to a System Message 20227 error that occurs when try to open any screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL that contains BSL customizations.

Symptoms

When you try to open any screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL that contains BSL customizations, you receive the following error message:

System Message 20227-Attempted to load a BSL customization but BSL components are not installed.

Cause

This problem occurs when the BSL components aren't installed.

Resolution

Install the BSL components by running the BSLComponents.msi file that is located in the AdditionalComponentInstallers folder that is contained in the Dynamics SL 2015 download package.
