Compare PowerPoint documents on Onedrive

OneDrive automatically saves versions of your files. Especially when coauthoring with different coworkers, this should allow you to quickly see what has been changed since you last visited the document.

This works beautifully in Word: you can "compare documents", select the version from, version to, and it highlights the changes, you can walk through them, adjust the view to see original, definitive, all changes, major changes...

But I can't seem to get this working in PowerPoint.

PowerPoint has versions. I can open a previous version, but I can't compare it. There is a compare button, but it opens a "browse" dialog and it appears I can only compare to a physical document on my computer.

I can offcourse open the version-from, save-as to my PC, open the version-to, (save-as to my PC), compare TO with FROM... but even then it appears to miss trivial changes (a slide with one bullet compared to the same slide with a bullet added shows no changes).

Am I doing something wrong? There must be a better way!

    Hi, Wim.

No. You are doing it right!

Unfortunately, PowerPoint doesn't have a complete change tracking and comparison feature like Word does.

In powerpoint you can only compare the presentation with another presentation that is saved in the shared location inside your desktop.

You can see more details in the article below from microsoft:
