Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum.
Based on provided error code -2147467259 which is a generic "Unspecified Automation Error." In the context of AFAS and Windows 11, it almost always means the reporting component (AntaRepView) cannot communicate with your default printer driver.
Windows 11 probably changed how it handles printer permissions and default devices, which often breaks older reporting tools like the one AFAS uses (likely based on ActiveReports).
The following are a few of suggested troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
1.The "PDF Isolation" Test.
- Close AFAS completely. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
-
- Find "Microsoft Print to PDF" (or any PDF writer). Click on it and select Set as default. Note: If you do not see the button, you must first turn off "Let Windows manage my default printer" (see step 2).
- Open AFAS and try to print the document again.
- If it works: The issue is most likely your physical printer driver. You can print to PDF first and then print that PDF to paper, or try reinstalling your specific printer driver with a Windows 11-compatible version.
2.Disable Windows Printer Management.
- Windows 11 tries to be smart by constantly switching your default printer to the one you used last. This might confuse AFAS.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners. Scroll down to Printer preferences. Turn OFF the toggle for "Let Windows manage my default printer". Manually set your main printer as default again (or keep the PDF printer as default for now).
3.Run AFAS as Administrator.
- As the error indicates AntaRpVw.dll (Active Control: frmPreview.ARViewer). This file might lack the permissions to run its "Automation" scripts on Windows 11.
- Right-click the AFAS shortcut on your desktop. Select Run as Administrator. Try to print. If this works, right-click the shortcut > Properties > Compatibility > Check "Run this program as an administrator" so it will always works.
Hope the above information is helpful! If it is. Free feel to hit "Accepted" for benefitting others in community having the same issue too.
