Collecting free Minecraft Windows with no access to old Mojang account (I have Java version)

Hello! I have bought Minecraft Java a while back before the move to Microsoft. Later I got an email about migrating my Mojang account to Windows, so I did that. Now there is this opportunity to pick up your Windows version if you already have Java version advertised in the Windows store, but for me when I try to get Microsoft for Windows the green button in the launcher says “Play trial” and it only takes me to the store where I have to buy it.
When I did research on how to get the other version, most instructions say to log into the old Mojang account and get the code to the new version from there, but since I already did the migration I can’t log into that account.
Is there a way in which I can get my free Windows version, without logging into the inactive Mojang account?
