Disable precision touchpad acceleration

Hello,

I bought HP Pavilion15 a few days ago. While personalizing it I have discovered that under no circumstances I cannot get rid of touchpad acceleration, which is very annoying. I unchecked the "enhance precision" option in mouse properties and it successfully disabled acceleration, but only of external mouse, not the touchpad. I have the latest drivers installed (from HP's website: Synaptics Precision Touchpad Filter Driver 19.5.35.54), which unfortunately don't provide Synaptics Control Panel (which had plenty of options to tweak), but uses Windows' Precision touchpad settings, which are pretty basic compared to Synaptics Control Panel.

I have also tried to install the Synaptics Control Panel from Windows Store, but the download was always ending up with an error.

Are there any other options to disable the touchpad acceleration? Maybe an older driver which brings back the Synaptics Control Panel?

Apparently there is nothing related to Synaptics under "Apps & features".
But in Device Manager, under Mice and other pointing device I have "Synaptics Precision Touchpad Filter Driver" and under HID Devices i have "Synaptics TPFHID Device" and "I2C HID Device"

Thanks for the clarification.

It's weird because the driver you installed says, "The driver enables general touchpad functionality and provides a user interface". You were supposed to have the control panel to be able to change the settings you want.

Uninstall the driver via "Apps & features", restart the PC, and install it again.

• Press "Windows + I" and select "Apps > Apps & Features".
  The name may be different on your computer, but it is usually "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver".

Thank you for quick response.

Yes, I verified it with Device Manager and moreover I also went through the step of manually selecting the driver from HP's package (SP134473) .

Right after starting download of Synaptics Control Panel app in MS Store I receive 0x803FB005 error, which is quite common (based on google results), but still I didn't find any solution to it.

The exact model of my laptop is: 15-eg0062nw and the serial number: 5CD1075PM0.

You reported that the drivers are up to date. How did you verify this? From Device Manager?

What error occurs when trying to install Synaptics Control Panel from the Microsoft Store?

Try installing the latest driver available for your computer from the support area of the HP website.

If you can't find it, let me know the exact model of your HP Pavilion 15, there are many.
