Bluetooth android issue

Bluetooth headphones are properly connected, you can hear notifications, ring from Teams, etc., but as soon as you answer a call or join a meeting, the audio is redirected to the device's speaker. You have to disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth headphones during the call. Then, TMS automatically switches the audio to the headphones and works correctly until the end of the call. This has been the case for several years. (Samsung S23, any Bluetooth headset).

    Hi Ryszard Drozd

    Welcome to Q&A Community!

Thank you for reporting this persistent issue. I understand how frustrating it can be when Bluetooth audio doesn’t route correctly during Teams calls.

To make sure we're aligned and avoid from any misunderstanding, please let me know a few details about your issue by answering these questions:

    Are you signed in with a personal account (e.g., @hotmail.com, @outlook.com), an education account (e.g., @school.edu), or a work account (e.g., @yourcompany.com)?

Are you on the latest version of Microsoft Teams for Android?

May I know which version your Samsung S23 is running?

Does this happen with all headsets or specific ones?

Do you have a Galaxy Watch or other devices paired during calls?

Is “Nearby Devices” permission enabled for Teams in your phone settings?

Is your audio device working normally on other apps? Please have a test and let me know how it goes.

While waiting for your confirmation, I recommend these basic steps that you should check when there is an audio issue in Teams:

    Enable Nearby Devices Permission

Go to Settings > Apps > Teams > Permissions > Nearby Devices > Allow.

    Check Bluetooth Settings

Under Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > [Your Headset], ensure both Calls and Audio are enabled.

    Clear Teams Cache

Navigate to Settings > Apps > Teams > Storage > Clear Cache.

Join call on Speaker, then switch

Start the call using the phone speaker, then manually switch to Bluetooth in the Teams in-call audio menu to see if it works differently.

    Disconnect Other Devices

Temporarily unpair Galaxy Watch or other Bluetooth devices before joining the call.

Please try the given steps and let me know how it goes on your part. Kindly correct me if there are any misunderstandings and if you can provide any other details or steps you've tried. I am happy to assist you further.
