Hi Carolina,
Thanks so much for reaching out. We understand how confusing and frustrating it can be when your OneDrive Family plan shows only a 10GB limit instead of the full 1TB you're entitled to. You're not alone this issue can happen occasionally, and we’re here to help you get it sorted.
Here are a few steps you can try to fix it:
Let’s Start with the Basics
Sign out of OneDrive, then sign back in using the Microsoft account that’s linked to your Family subscription. This refresh often helps OneDrive recognize your correct storage.
Unlink and reconnect OneDrive:
Click the OneDrive icon in your system tray.
Go to Settings Account and go to Unlink this PC.
Then sign back in and check your storage again.
Give It a Little Time
If you’ve just joined or renewed the plan, it might take up to 24 hours for the correct storage to show up.
Check the Web Version
Sometimes the desktop app lags behind. Try logging in to onedrive.live.com the correct storage might already be reflected there.
Your OneDrive Family plan showing the wrong storage limit, try heading to your Microsoft account’s subscription page and toggling auto-renewal just turn it off, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on. This quick refresh has helped many users get their full 1TB storage back. Also, double-check that your Microsoft 365 Family subscription is active, that you're listed as a family member under the plan, and that you've accepted the invitation properly by visiting account.microsoft.com.
Still Not Working?
If none of these steps work after 24–48 hours, we recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support. Our agents can manually refresh your account settings and make sure your storage is correctly applied.
We really appreciate your patience, and we’re here to make sure you get the full value of your subscription. Let us know if you’d like help contacting support or checking your subscription status together.
Warm regards,
