Dear Microsoft Support Team,
I am writing to request immediate assistance with accessing my Microsoft account (******@outlook.com). My account is protected by two-factor authentication (2FA) linked to a phone number starting with +7. Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer sends verification codes to this number, preventing me from logging in.
As an alternative, I was directed to fill out the Account Recovery Form (ACSR). However, this form is ineffective in my case, as accounts with 2FA enabled are explicitly excluded from this recovery process. As a result, I am locked out of critical services tied to my account, including my licensed Windows operating system and Outlook email, which is essential for my access to various online services. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and effectively denies me access to services I have rightfully paid for or rely on.
I kindly request that you provide a solution to either send verification codes to my registered phone number, update my 2FA settings to an alternative method (such as my second email: (******@gmail.com), or assist me in recovering access through a secure process that accommodates 2FA-enabled accounts. Please escalate this issue to the appropriate team, such as the Microsoft Data Protection Team, if necessary.
Additionally, I am concerned that Microsoft’s current approach—preventing access to my account without providing a viable recovery option—may conflict with U.S. consumer protection laws, such as those enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Under the FTC Act (15 U.S.C. § 45), practices that unfairly restrict consumer access to purchased services or products may be considered deceptive or unfair. By denying access to my licensed Windows and other services without a reasonable resolution path, this situation could potentially violate these standards. I urge Microsoft to address this promptly to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and to restore my access.
Please provide an update on my case as soon as possible. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to a swift resolution.
