How to fix Windows Update?

Windows update is not working. Internet connection is perfect, update troubleshooter is not connecting.

If the troubleshooter won’t even connect, the update service itself is probably stuck. Please restart the Windows Update components then stop the Update service, clear the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders, then start the service again. That usually resets things so updates can download fresh. If it still won’t run after that, running an in-place repair install is the most reliable way to get Windows Update working again without losing files.
