DomainController.SeizeRoleOwnership(ActiveDirectoryRole) Method

Definition

Causes this domain controller to take ownership of the specified role.

C#
public void SeizeRoleOwnership(System.DirectoryServices.ActiveDirectory.ActiveDirectoryRole role);

Parameters

role
ActiveDirectoryRole

One of the ActiveDirectoryRole members that specifies which role the domain controller should take ownership of.

Exceptions

role is not valid.

The current object has been disposed.

Remarks

This method is a destructive operation because it causes the role to be taken without the cooperation of the server that currently holds the role. The DomainController.TransferRoleOwnership method should be used instead whenever possible.
