Attributes

Examples

The following code example demonstrates the use of the DestinationSymmetricKey property.

C#
// Set the queue's MessageReadPropertyFilter property to enable the
// message's DestinationSymmetricKey property.
queue.MessageReadPropertyFilter.DestinationSymmetricKey = true;

// Peek at the message. Time out after ten seconds in case the message
// was not delivered.
orderMessage = queue.Peek(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(10.0));

// Display the value of the message's DestinationSymmetricKey property.
Console.WriteLine("Message.DestinationSymmetricKey: {0}",
    orderMessage.DestinationSymmetricKey);

Remarks

The DestinationSymmetricKey property of the Message class specifies the symmetric key used to encrypt the message. It is required when you send application-encrypted messages, or when you send encrypted messages to a foreign queue.

A foreign queue exists in a queuing system other than Microsoft Message Queuing. Microsoft Message Queuing communicates with such queues through a connector application.
