Can't install 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) get this error 0x80070643

Question

Hello! Today when i logged in on my computer i get a notice that there's 3 updates. I check Windows Update and i see that 2 of them are fine but there's an error with the 3. I do what Windows Update says and restart my computer. After the one with the error is still there, specifically 2024-01 Security Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5034441) with the following error 0x80070643.

I look it up on the internet. I follow every help i can find on Microsoft as best as i can but nothing helps.

Here is what i have tried...

1. Resetting Windows Update components.
2. WSUS troubleshooting.
3. Resetting Windows Update components manually.
4. Performed a clean boot.
5. Ran the .NET Framework repair tool.

Now i will list some strange encounters while trying to do what i read on Microsoft...

1. At least once i'm told to locate http://<WSUSSERVER:port>/iuident.cab but i cant find it in windowsupdate.log nor on the internet.
2. In windowsupdate.log i see that there's lines saying something like WSUS null.
3. I notice that when trying to get the update it start downloading going from 0 % to 100 % almost instantly then only to go to install and being frozen at 0 % and then after some time stop and give error.
4. In the command prompt i notice Bits is not started.
5. I'm told to type "Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"" in command prompt but all it gives me is that it can't find the specified path.

I'm wondering if the antivirus i'm using is causing some or all of this trouble. I'm using Avast Free Antivirus.

I think it's also worth mentioning that, if i remember correctly, i had a cumulative update that wouldn't work for over 1 year at least. But for some month ago it just worked.

My computer is HP and it's using windows 10.

Could you take a screenshot of the result you get when you run list disk?

Update: I've searched around on the internet for some answers regarding GPT and * and i feel more sure about the decision i need to make. But when looking at pictures of others command prompt they don't have the * right next do the disk like i do. However i do not have * right underneath GPT.

Hello! First of, thanks for the response it has helped me thus far. However i'm stuck in the command prompt and i need assistance.

I'm currently following the article "KB5028997: Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update". I'm stuck at stage 5 a.. The reason is that i'm suppose to determine either it's GPT or MBR. Thing is, i got the asterisk character * but it's not directly under the GPT text in command prompt it is located under "disk###" left of "disk 0" which is right underneath "disk###". I feel that this is important step and i don't want to mess it up.

Where does the * need to be exactly for it to be either GPT or MBR?
