365 Family - is storage limited to 1TB/user or is it the total that counts?

My 365 Family is shared with three other family members. They have very limited storage requirements, while I alone need more than 1TB för my raw and Photoshop photos.

Is my space limited to 1TB, or is there a way that I could use more up to the total 6TB alloted to the entire "family"?

As of now I have divided, used other's accounts and shared folders so that no account exceeds 1TB. But it would be a lot more practical if I could use the space I need in my own account, as long as the collective "family" does not exceed the total. Is that possible?

Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

With the Office 365 family subscription the storage limit is 1TB per person.

There is a way around using another users storage for your own use, from this article - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/mana...

Why can I only see 1 TB with Office 365 Home?

With an Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you get a total of 6 TB storage: that's 1 TB (or 1000 GB) per user.

You can share your total storage around and have use of more than 1 TB by sharing folders between users (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/shar...) and adding the shared folders to your own OneDrive.(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-...)

To manage your Microsoft 365 subscription, visit your Microsoft account portal.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
