Dear Frida Danko
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand you are having problem with your Outlook.com account still showing an old Facebook nickname/alias even after you removed your email from Facebook, and changing the visible name did not work. I am happy to assist you.
If the “Facebook alias” is an actual Microsoft account sign-in/email alias (not just a display name), remove it from your Microsoft account aliases: go to “Manage how you sign in to Microsoft” and remove the unwanted alias (note: removing a Microsoft-domain alias like @outlook.com is permanent).
If the “Facebook alias” is coming from an old Facebook-to-Microsoft profile connection (common with older Outlook/People integrations), removing it on Facebook alone won’t remove it from your Microsoft profile; remove the Facebook connection from the Microsoft profile services page (look for Facebook and select “Remove this connection completely”). If the wrong name is what recipients see in the From field, update the Microsoft account display name (this is the name shown when you send emails) and allow time for it to propagate, then re-sign-in on Outlook for Android to refresh cached identity data (remove and re-add the account in the app if needed).
If the issue still persists after trying these workarounds, please feel free to reply to this thread and I will be happy to assist you further. Thank you for your understanding.
