Hello KANLAYA,
I'm Riza an Independent Advisor. Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. Let's work on resolving your issue together.
The error message suggests a network connectivity issue specifically with Microsoft services.
Let's do steps below to troubleshoot and fix this issue.
It is extremely important to Check your Internet Connection. First, make sure you have a stable internet connection. Can you browse other websites (like Google, YouTube)? If not, the problem is with your general internet connection.
Restart Router/Modem: Unplug your router and modem from power for about 30 seconds, then plug them back in and wait for them to fully restart.
Try another network: If possible, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or using a wired Ethernet connection to see if the issue persists. This helps determine if the problem is specific to your current network.
- Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:
Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can often automatically diagnose and fix update-related issues.
Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot.
Click on Other troubleshooters.
Find Windows Update and click Run.
Follow the on-screen instructions and apply any recommended fixes.
Restart your PC after the troubleshooter completes.
- Restart Windows Update Services. Sometimes, the update services themselves can get stuck.
Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
Type services.msc and press Enter.
In the Services window, find the following services:
Windows Update
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
Cryptographic Services
Application Identity
Right-click on each of these services and select Stop.
After stopping them all, go to the following folder: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution
Delete all the contents inside this folder. (This folder stores temporary update files, and clearing it can resolve corruption issues).
Go back to the Services window.
Right-click on Windows Update, BITS, Cryptographic Services, and Application Identity again, and select Start.
Restart your PC and try updating again.
If issue persists, please let us know so we can move on to the next steps.
Best Regards,
RizaP
