Could I delete the folder of old users?

I am using second-hand laptop, and now having 3 folders of users in drive c.

1 is mine, 2 is old users, and 3 is public which is having some of text documents, configuration settings, and DAT file type.

When I delete old users folder, it said that I need to provide admin permission, so I click continue and it start to delete for a sec, then it pop up "You require permission from "Unknown..." to make changes to this folder"

So I went for looking in properties of this folder and changed the owner to be my account already.

For addition: There are 3 users; "SYSTEM", "Unknown..." and my account. "SYSTEM" and my account are getting full permission but not special permissions, but the "Unknown..." is just "Read and Execute".

Deleting user accounts via Settings should delete the respective profile folders. Please see this link:

Most importantly, if this is a second-hand laptop, I suggest resetting the unit completely with the "Keep nothing" option. This ensures that the system is malware-free.

To reset Windows 11, open Settings > Recovery, click “Reset PC”

Choose the “Keep nothing” and “Cloud download” options.

Before resetting, be sure to backup your files, if any, to an external drive.
