My xlsx file is not able to open due to "file format or extension is not valid" error.

Question

Hello,

My file is not able to open due to  "file format or extension is not valid" error.

MS support technician has tried:

Repair file on Excel while opening it

Check security of file and check auto save location

Try to open on O365

But still can not open the file. Could you please help me to resolve?

Thank you for your attention. I **** using Office online, but I also tried to open file on Office 2016 (x86 and x64) on diffrenet PC's

I don't have any issues with any other Office program or documents.

I will try your steps.

As a note: this file was encrypted and was saved on a a USB drive.
