Hi,

I **** licensed user for "microsoft office professional plus 2016"

When I try to upgrade I see that Office 365 is installing.

If I install office 365, will I be charged? or will I use it free?

    Hi, I'm Diane and I'm happy to help you today.

    The splash screen doesn't necessarily mean it is the wrong version.

    Did you redeem the key in your Microsoft account, or do you need ot enter the key at setup.office.com to download it?

    Either method should install the correct version, regardless of what the splash screen says. The version in File > Account should be Office 2016 Professional.

    You won't have Microsoft 365 free unless you can sign in to activate it. If you can activate, then it is Office 2016.

    Windows Settings > Apps should show it as Office 2016 Professional. If you have an entry for Microsoft 365 in installed apps, uninstall it.
