   • If your checkbox is linked to a cell, right-click the checkbox and choose Format Control > Control tab to check the linked cell.
   • Then, right-click the linked cell, choose Format Cells > Protection, and uncheck “Locked”.
   • This ensures the checkbox can update the cell even when the sheet is protected.
3. Protect the Sheet with Correct Options
   • Go to the Review tab and click Protect Sheet.
   • In the dialog box, check “Edit objects” and optionally “Edit scenarios”.
