Dear @efe biltekin,

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, I understand that you really want to recover password for your account due to forgetting password and I also see that you still can use it in your phone. So please do not worry, I'm here to suggest my insights and recommendations for you.

Kindly notes: as a forum moderator in Microsoft Q&A Forum, I do not have the right to access to internal databases to reset password for you in this case due to security protocols. However, I can try my best to help you with available resources that I can find for you.

If your Microsoft account is personal account (e.g: your domain like @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, @outlook.com,…), you can try these suggestions to see if they can help:

1.Use Authenticator app on your phone to change password (if you have already installed it):

  • Open the Authenticator app
  • Choose your account and you will see One-time password code or change password option.
  • If you want to use One-time password, you should choose Forgot password in log in screen. Then choose "I have a code", you will need to fill 6 digits One-time password in your Authenticator app.

 undefined undefined

  • If you choose "change password" option, the Authenticator app will pop up a link to page: mysignins.microsoft.com to change password for you.
  • Before you can reach that page successfully, it will ask your 2 digits code from Authenticator, you just need to verify that code on the app (click the app notification) and the page will let you get in and change password.

 undefined undefined undefined

2.In the method using One-time password, it also has recovered password by your email, have you tried it yet? If not, please try and see if you can fix.

3.If these suggestions above do not work, you have to use Recovery Form, please use this link for the form: Recover your account

Reference: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

Please note that if your Microsoft account recovery request wasn't granted, you can keep trying as many times as you want, up to two times per day, see: Account recovery unsuccessful - Microsoft Support

In case that, your Microsoft account is not a personal account, and it is a business (work or school) account, you should contact your Global Administrator in your organization to reset password for you. Please ask them to follow this article to proceed to reset your password: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

I hope this information can help you to recover your password and I appreciate your understanding in this matter because I'm limited in my role, so this is all of suggestions that I can provide in my resources.

Wish you a pleasant day!

    Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Support forum.

I can understand you've forgotten your Microsoft account password and can't reset it using security questions, but you still have access through your phone, making recovery tricky but possible.

    Password resets usually require:

    Security questions

    Recovery email or phone number

    Verification via two-factor authentication

If those aren’t working or available, Microsoft won’t let you reset the password directly. It’s a security measure to protect your account from unauthorized access.

    Steps you can try:

    1. **How to Check Recovery Options:

**Go to the Microsoft Account Security Dashboard Visit the Manage how you sign in page.

    >Sign in using your trusted device: Since you still have access via your phone, use it to log in securely.

    Review Your Sign-In Methods

Look for email addresses, phone numbers, or authenticator apps listed under your account.

If available, you can use one of these to reset your password
    **
If step 1 does not work, kindly try Step 2:**

Step 2: Fill Out Microsoft’s Account Recovery Form

    Go to Microsoft’s recovery form

Provide as much info as possible (old passwords, contacts, subject lines of emails, etc.)

The more accurate, the better your chances

    I hope these helps!

Please do not hesitate to contact again if you need further assistance.

    Thank you for your time.

    Best Regards,
