Hello serhat sütlü,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A.
I understand how concerning it can be when your mailbox begins displaying unreadable folder names or repeatedly generates draft messages that cannot be deleted. I’ll guide you through the recommended steps to address this.
Based on your description, this behavior is commonly associated with either:
- A synchronization issue involving a connected email client (such as a mobile mail app), or
- Unauthorized access to the account, where automated activity may be altering folders or generating drafts.
To secure your account and stabilize the mailbox, please follow the steps below carefully:
Step 1: Secure Your Account
- Sign in at: https://account.microsoft.com
- Go to Security > Advanced security options
- Select Change password and create a strong, unique password
- Choose the option to sign out of all sessions, if available
Additionally, review your recent activity under Review activity to ensure there are no unfamiliar sign-in attempts. If not already enabled, please turn on Two-step verification for added protection.
Step 2: Check Mailbox Rules
- Sign in to https://outlook.live.com via a web browser
- Click the Settings icon
- Navigate to Mail > Rules
- Remove any rules you do not recognize
Unexpected rules can cause automatic draft creation or folder movement.
Step 3: Isolate Possible Sync Issues
To rule out device synchronization conflicts:
- Temporarily disconnect mobile devices (Airplane mode)
- Using a web browser on a PC, delete the affected drafts and any corrupted folders
- Monitor the mailbox in Outlook on the web
If the issue does not return while devices are disconnected, remove the account completely from the mobile device, restart it, and then re-add the account as a fresh setup.
If the Issue Persists
If the behavior continues after completing all the steps above, this may indicate a server-side mailbox issue that requires secure account verification.
