Peach racer - Code a side-scrolling racing game​

Calling all future game developers!

In this activity, you'll learn to code an old school arcade game by completing tutorials that create a side-scrolling racing game with obstacles to overcome, before getting to the finish line. Participants have an opportunity to customize this game by designing their own background scene, sprites, and obstacles.

  • Audience: Students ages 9-13 with an interest in STEM and interactive learning experiences.
  • Length: 1.5 hours
  • Learning objectives for learners
    • Develop their creativity, computational thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate and collaborate with others.
    • Use MakeCode Arcade to develop and test algorithms to solve a problem.
