Thank you for reaching out and sharing the screenshot. I’ll be happy to assist.
The message you’re seeing usually means one of the following:
- Word’s security settings are blocking the hyperlink
- The link is invalid or broken, or the server is unavailable
- There are network restrictions such as regional blocks, firewalls, or VPN interference
- The content is private or has been removed.
Before we proceed, please confirm:
- Can you open the link in your browser outside of Word?
- Is the PC connected without VPN, proxy, or firewall blocks?
- Have there been any recent changes to your network or security settings?
- Do other HTTPS links open in Word, or is it only this site?
While waiting for your reply, please try the following:
- Test in a browser. Open the link in Edge or Chrome. If it fails, the issue is network-related.
- Clear Word’s web cache. Close Word, press Windows+R, type %temp%, delete temp files, and restart Word.
- Check Internet Options. Control Panel > Internet Options > Security tab > Internet > Custom level. Enable file download and access data sources across domains.
- Adjust Protected View. File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings. Temporarily disable Protected View and allow external content.
- Test another network. Try a hotspot. If it works, your main network or ISP is blocking it.
- Review Trusted Locations and Macro Settings. Ensure the document’s folder is trusted and macros aren’t blocking links.
- Disable add-ins. File > Options > Add-ins. Disable all, restart Word, and test again.
- Repair Office. Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Microsoft Office > Change > Quick Repair. If needed, run Online Repair.
- Test Word Safe Mode. Hold Ctrl while opening Word. If it works, an add-in or template is the cause.
- Update Office. File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
