Microsoft Edge is designed to open bookmark links in the current tab, and currently there's no settings to modify it. However, there's workarounds you may try.

1. Hold the Ctrl key while you left-click on bookmark links.
2. Use the middle-mouse to click on bookmark links.
3. Use third party extensions.

You may pick the workaround that gives you the most convenient.
