來源 Quench 訊息會在因為輸出佇列中的空間不足而捨棄封包時傳送。 如果封包太快而無法處理，目的地計算機也可以傳送來源 Quench 訊息。 來源快取訊息是主機的要求，可截斷傳送流量至因特網目的地的速率。
