Thanks for the update, Bill. Since the DDE option and Quick Repair aren’t available, you’re likely using the new Excel version. Does the extra blank Excel window also appear when you open Excel in Safe Mode by holding Ctrl while starting it?
If it doesn’t, the issue may come from an add-in or startup setting. Try disabling all COM Add-ins under File > Options > Add-ins, then restart Excel. If the blank window still appears, open Excel first and use File > Open to load your file instead of double-clicking it. If none of these steps work, reinstall Microsoft 365 from your account page at https://account.microsoft.com/servicesto refresh all Excel components.
