On Windows 11, the desktop icon label style (like Recycle Bin text color, boldness, and font) is no longer user-configurable through normal settings as it was in Windows XP.
The system font, color, and shadowing for desktop labels are now tied to system themes and accessibility settings.
- You can adjust size (via display scaling or Accessibility then Text size), but not bold or color individually.
- Any deeper customization, such as making labels bold, recoloring them, or using a custom font, requires registry edits or third-party tools, and even then, the change is partial (affecting multiple UI elements, not just desktop icons).
To sum it up:
- Possible only through tweaks/workarounds.
- Not fully supported natively.
- Changes are system-wide.
- Not per-label or desktop-only.
