How do I retain SSRS group expansion when an interactive sort is performed on a header?

I have a very simple SSRS report.

Data is grouped, and upon initially running the report, the data is collapsed into two groups.

I show totals for the group, and have the + sign to expand either. ALL GOOD.

When I expand the first group, I see the detailed data. ALL GOOD.

One of the columns contains data from a DISTRICT. I enabled INTERACTIVE sorting on that column. ALL GOOD.

However, when I click on the DISTRICT column in order to sort that group's data, the entire group COLLAPSES, back to the original screen with just 2 summary lines. I have to RE-EXPAND the group to see the sorted data.

Is there a way to KEEP THE GROUP EXPANDED when an interactive SORT is done via the column header?

    Hi @Feuerborn, Thomas,

I think that the group will be collapsing because the interactive sort will re-run the report and then report will re-rendered.

It is by design, temporarily we could not change it.

You may share your idea here, the product team will consider to add the feature.
