while installing sql server developer , shows up error decompressing media server ?

    Try to download the media using this setup EXE program.

    Put the iso on a folder on the computer C: system drive, mount the ISO and install from there. Alternatively, you can unzip the ISO file using 7zip or WinZip and the run SQL Server setup program from the unzipped content of the ISO file. Take in consideration that SQL Server setup program may fail when you try to install SQL Server on a compressed folder or drive. Read here for solution.

    Uploading the Errorlog will help us identify the cause of the problem, and the specific path is approximately C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\150\Setup Bootstrap\Log\2024XXXX_XXXXXX\Detail.txt.

    You should try deleting the folder \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\150 before you give the installation another shot.Run the installer as an administrator.

    Apart from using 'Basic'mode you can try 'Custom' and 'Download Media', which will only take a few more minutes in comparison.
