App Protection Policy does not apply on the Cloud App 'Microsoft 365 (Office)'

Hello Community,

I've created an App Protection Policy in Intune for Android unmanaged devices, requiring a PIN for accessing Outlook, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 (Office). While the PIN requirement works as expected for Outlook and OneDrive, it doesn't prompt for a PIN in Microsoft 365 (Office). Additionally, within the Microsoft 365 (Office) app, I can access my OneDrive files without any security prompts.

This means that while the OneDrive app itself is secured, accessing OneDrive files through the Microsoft 365 (Office) app bypasses this security.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Is it a known limitation that the Microsoft 365 (Office) app doesn't fully comply with App Protection Policies?

Kind regards,

Mike

@Mike, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my researching, I find for Microsoft 365 (Office) for Android, we need to add the Office Hub, Office Hub (HL), and Office Hub (ROW) apps to Android App Protection Policies to make it works.

Hope the above information can help.
