Viner Hand ITC font family
Overview
ITC Viner Hand? is an informal script face that is based on the handwriting of British designer John Viner. Viner learned the craft of brush lettering during the late 1940s while he was working at a firm that produced posters for the Gaumont and Odeon cinema circuits. After serving in the Royal Air Force, he moved to London and worked as a lettering and general artist in print studios which produced artwork for major advertising agencies. Released in 1996, ITC Viner Hand has a relaxed rhythm typical of handwriting and lends a personal touch to computer generated copy.
